LEGISLATIVE GOALS
2023-2024

  1. MS ACTE recommends increasing the salaries of Career and Technical Educators to be in alignment with education, business, and industry averages in the Southeastern United States.

  2. MS ACTE recommends funding for:
    •  $100,000,000 funding for the Office of Career and Technical Education.    
    • $175,000 funding for the C.M. Brewer FFA Leadership Center budget. The FFA Center is used by all CTE student organizations.
    • $350,000 funding for extended contracts for Secondary Career and Technical Teachers for the purpose of enhancing economic development.
    • $345,000 funding for the purpose of establishing and equipping new programs in Career and Technical Education.

  3.  MS ACTE recommends continuation of funding of workforce training and development to enable secondary career and technical education to prepare and upgrade the workforce.
     
  4. MS ACTE supports pay raises for the State Staff and the Technical Education Staff.
     
  5. MS ACTE recommends continued support for salary supplements and incentives for the National Board Certified Teachers.
