LEGISLATIVE GOALS
2023-2024
- MS ACTE recommends increasing the salaries of Career and Technical Educators to be in alignment with education, business, and industry averages in the Southeastern United States.
- MS ACTE recommends funding for:
- $100,000,000 funding for the Office of Career and Technical Education.
- $175,000 funding for the C.M. Brewer FFA Leadership Center budget. The FFA Center is used by all CTE student organizations.
- $350,000 funding for extended contracts for Secondary Career and Technical Teachers for the purpose of enhancing economic development.
- $345,000 funding for the purpose of establishing and equipping new programs in Career and Technical Education.
- MS ACTE recommends continuation of funding of workforce training and development to enable secondary career and technical education to prepare and upgrade the workforce.
- MS ACTE supports pay raises for the State Staff and the Technical Education Staff.
- MS ACTE recommends continued support for salary supplements and incentives for the National Board Certified Teachers.
